RAAF Navigator receives his Wings

This image in Norman McIntyre’s photograph album shows him receiving his Wings after completing his training as a navigator in Canada. Norman’s handwriting in silvery-white is the caption to the picture. This was a proud moment. Many candidates were washed out during the long and arduous training.

On Norman’s left shoulder, slightly out of focus, are the flashes which show his nationality.

Next to the presentation photograph there is a fine portrait shot of Norman, wearing his new Wings:
