The genesis of this website was the 97 Squadron website, the Black Thursday (16/17 December 1943) website, and the Pathfinders website, all of which were the work of Dr Jennie Mack Gray.
97 Squadron (97squadron.co.uk) was the original website, which began in 2002. It was later joined by the website on Black Thursday (firebynight.co.uk) and the website on the Pathfinders (ww2-pathfinders.co.uk). These websites are no longer online.
The website which replaced them, raf-pathfinders.com, is now itself being replaced by this new website, rafpathfinders.com, which is a streamlined and updated version that reflects our catalogue and its hierarchical structure. The catalogue, which is not yet completed, is currently not open to the general public.
All the material on the four earlier websites has been retained, and modified versions of some of their pages have already been added to this current site.
Copyright is retained from all five websites, and permission is required to use former material or any new information on this website.
Permissions: It has taken more than a quarter of a century to collect this material. If you wish to use any of our images or information, please be courteous and contact us for permission; there is then a simple procedure to be followed. Permission would not be refused except in exceptional circumstances.
