The RAF Pathfinders Archive, which was founded in 2017, has recently undertaken a major reorganisation to take it forward into the next 8-10 years.
Perhaps the most significant change has been the move of all the Archive’s physical artefacts to RAF Wyton’s Heritage Centre, where they form a complement to the wonderful, long-established Pathfinder Collection. Together the two collections make up the premier assembly of Pathfinder material in Britain. If you would like to visit the collections, please see foot of this page.
There have also been the following organisational changes.
- The Archive’s founder, Dr Jennie Mack Gray, has resigned from the Chairmanship but will continue as a Trustee with responsibility for the website, social media, and the digital archive.
- Sean Feast, the renowned aviation writer, has become the new Chairman (for a press release on Sean, see RAF CHARITY APPOINTS NEW CHAIR).
- John Clifford, who is the Senior Curator at RAF Wyton Heritage Centre as well as being one of our Trustees, has undertaken the massive task of recording all the Archive’s physical artefacts on the Heritage Centre’s database.
- Jim Blackwood and Carl Thomas, the last of our five Trustees, are continuing in their invaluable role as dedicated PFF experts closely involved with the Heritage Centre.
John, Jim or Carl are the highly knowledgeable chaps you are most likely to meet if you book a visit to the RAF Wyton Heritage Centre.
The procedure for booking a visit to the Centre remains the same, and can be read about at this link: https://rafpathfinders.com/partners-pathfinder-collection-raf-wyton/
